Happy New Year to you!
Whether you are a regular follower of our blog or just passing through, we have some tips to ensure you get off to the best possible start to 2017, 17 tips in fact!
Now we aren't saying you should follow everything on our list, even if you could keep to a couple you will be surprised the difference it will make to your life. Some of them are easy to follow - others will take a bit of will power - but where there's a will, there's a way!
1. Clean Out Your Wardrobe
Nothing beats a good clear out of the wardrobe in the New Year. Throw out anything that you haven't worn in the last 6 months - chances are you aren't going to wear them in the next 6. Drop everything you don't want (make sure they are clean) to your local charity shop or homeless shelter - they will be delighted with the donation.
2. Get Regular Health Checks
Go for a health check to make sure everything is in tip-top shape for the New Year. Some people (like myself!) are afraid to visit the doctor in case we might get some bad news. But it would be a lot worse if found out this new too late!
3. Take Up A New Hobby
Try your hand at something new, whether it be in the morning, during lunch, after work or in the evenings. It can be as easy as reading a new book each week, or as hard as TRX Classes in the gym. Whatever it is, take at least 30 minutes twice a week to yourself and your new hobby.
4. Try Out 'Dry January'
While this isn't for everyone, it is something we all should do every once in a while (unless of course you don't drink!). The effects that alcohol has on our body can be huge - give it a break for a month after the Christmas period and see the results for yourself.
5. Declutter Your House
Whether or not you celebrate Christmas, the house could probably do a good deep clean during the month of January. Day-by-day declutter each room - get rid of things that should not be there. Throw things away, re-cycle, up-cycle or donate - remove the clutter in whatever way possible.
6. Meet New People
Get out of your comfort zone and meet new people - this can tie in with taking up a new hobby also if you join a class etc. If you find it hard to meet new people why not make an extra effort to meet people you know, especially those who you haven't seen for a while. You would be surprised how meeting an old friendly face can lift your spirits.
7. Improve Your Concentration Levels
Take time out of your day to increase your concentration and mental skills. Buy a newspaper and do the Sudoku on it (or you could download it your phone!), do a brain teaser in the office each morning to get heads engaged, while also increasing morale! If you are looking for an extra boost why not take Revive Active Mastermind - designed to support cognitive function.
8. Save Money
Easier said than done - especially after the Christmas period! Why not try a saving scheme? Ask your workplace to set one up for you and your colleagues. Alternatively you can start your own saving scheme at home (with a sealed moneybox!) Follow the plan below and you will be €1378 richer by the end of 2017.
9. Give Up Smoking
Obviously this only applies to those who smoke and it is not an easy task, but think of the benefits it would have on your life. It would not only benefit your health, but also the health of those around you, not to mention the health of your bank account!
10. Sleep More
Ensure you are getting between 7 & 8 hours sleep per night. If you have to be up early, go to bed early. We need sleep to properly function in our daily lives.
11. Take Chances
Do things that you would never have done before. We are not saying sign up for a bungee jump (unless you want to!) Start with small changes, voice your opinion more in meetings, apply for a job that you don't think you would get, go on a blind date! Whatever it may be, step out of your comfort zone.
Create a bucket list of all the places you would like to visit this year, whether at home or abroad. Try to visit as many as possible throughout the year. Travel can be expensive so why not tie this in with your saving scheme - and save for that dream holiday - Christmas in New York anyone?
Top Tip: Revive Active is great for jetlag!
13. Learn To Cook At Least 5 New Dishes
Delight your family and friends with new dishes that you learned to cook this year. Try something challenging, you can get great ideas on the internet. Get your friends to do it too and organise your very own 'Come Dine with Me'.
14. Start Writing A Journal
Keeping a journal or diary can be very therapeutic for people. It is a great way to get things off your chest at the end of a busy day. It is also a brilliant way to look back on fond memories over the years that you may not have otherwise remembered. Remember, it's the little things that count.
15. Take A Supplement
Leap into the new year with the best possible start by taking a supplement. We recommend the new improved Revive Active as there is nothing on the market like it. With 26 active ingredients you will notice a change to your energy, immune system, heart function and skin, hair and nails.
16. Be More Polite
As the old saying goes 'It's nice to be important, but it's more important to be nice'. It won't cost you anything to hold the door for someone, or give up your seat on the bus. Whatever it may be, try to do something nice at least once a day.
17. Learn To Let Things Go
Finally I will leave you with some advice. Don't dwell on things that may have upset you throughout the day. Use the 5:5 Rule - If it won't be important to you in 5 years time, don't spend more than 5 minutes letting it get to you today.
Best of luck with our tips to great New Year. We would love to hear which ones you are going to follow and how you are getting on - leave a comment below!
