Last Saturday, September 3rd 2016 we took to Galway Racecourse in support of a great cause where nothing, not even the rain could dampen our spirits..
Saturday September 3rd, 2016 saw the VHI A Lust for Life 5k race come to Galway for the first time. With a turn out of more than 300 runners and walkers it was an enjoyable morning for all.
For those of you who don't know, A Lust for Life is social movement for well being. They aim to connect the dots between mental health, physical health, our soul and society, as well as offering people a platform to share personal stories about how they made it through difficult periods in their lives.
Here in Revive Active HQ we had been training for this event for the previous 5 weeks with out Five Weeks to 5k training plan. If you are interested in running a 5k check out our Week 1 Plan HERE!
The morning began as a wet one, but thankfully there was no Autumn cold. The buzz around the racecourse was not much different to that of a day at the races as excitement filled the air. The morning commenced with a group warm up followed by an introduction from Niall 'Bressie' Breslin, and then we were on our way for two laps of the course.
The whole event was extremely well organised with stewards lined throughout the course to provide encouragement to all
participants. Rather than a competitive race, the morning was all about positivity and enjoying yourself.
After the race we were provided with some much needed refreshments and a goody bag. We at Revive Active are delighted to be a goody bag sponsor this year whereby each participant received a 7 Day Box of Revive Active Joint Complex. Bressie himself is a huge fan of all our products so we are very proud to play a part in this positive social movement.
The next A Lust for Life run will take place in Cork Airport at midnight on Friday September 30th. Another not to be missed event - you can find tickets HERE. The event sold out within 4 weeks last year so get your tickets while you still can.
Revive Active will again be sponsoring goody bags for the Cork event, so if you are going be sure to send us a picture/snap chat of your bag!
Thank you to those who have followed our Five Weeks to 5k blog for the past 5 weeks - we hope you enjoyed it as much as we did.
